Ancient Chinese method based on the meridians of acupuncture.

THE STEAMTABLE MASSAGE TABLE COMES FROM AN EXPERIENCE IN CHINA AT BEIJING SCHOOL-HOSPITAL.

IT’S MODERN AND PRACTICAL ADAPTATION OF AN ANCIENT METHOD BASED ON THE MERIDIANS OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE.

Set of holes

to act with steam.

This massage table is equipped with a set of holes that can be opened or closed at will (as can be seen from the pictures): one for the face to be able to work in a prone position, and other three holes along the spine for the supine position. There is a vaporizer at the bottom, which can be blocked or mobile, where the medicinal herbs are added for patient’s treatment.

This way, the steam acts on the affected areas according to the needs: the face or the spine.

The face hole allows us to use the stretcher for massages or, in this case, to treat respiratory problems such as: bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, etc. In particular, we will use steam with herbs for the treatment of respiratory problems (Eucalyptus, Licorice Root, Peppermint, Sage, Chaparral, Lungwort, Mullein, Elf-Dock, Lobelia, Oregano, Thyme, Osha Root, Coltsfoot), by positioning the vaporizer at the face hole position.

Specific action on cervical,

thoracic and lumbar areas.

The spine holes correspond to the three main areas: cervical, dorsal and lumbar. In this case, the patient lies in a supine position. The bladder meridian is the largest of the entire body, large part of which extends along one side of the spine, and it has many points of direct collaboration with other meridians of internal organs. This way, steaming the spine, we work on the balance of all the meridians.

Steamtable  allows us to steam the selected part of the body blocking the vaporizer in a fixed position corresponding to one of the holes that we choose to open, as in the case of the face hole, or moving the vaporizer back and forth for twenty minutes along all the opened holes, and consequently along the entire spine. This method allows us to treat problems as: neck pain, back pain, sciatica, muscle contractures, hernias, acne, psoriasis, etc. In this case, we will use steam with the herbs indicated for the specific treatment.

The best mixture of herbs

for the patient’s treatment.

For the muscular relaxation: Actaea Racemosa, Greater Celandine, Chamomile, Guelder-Rose, Dong Quai (Female Ginseng), Jimsonweed, Thyme, Valerian, Wild Yam, Kava-Kava, Peppermint, Lobelia, Lemon Balm, Elderberry, Bitter Orange, Green Anise, Passion Flower, Poppy.

Herbs such as Horsetail and Comfrey are recommended for the spinal disc herniation.

Obviously, when the blood circulation is not in balance, muscles and tissues can be affected. Then we can add to the previous treatments also herbs such as Yarrow, Borage, Centella, Yellow Sweet Clover, Nettle, etc, to help strengthen and protect blood vessels.

The patient is comfortably relaxed during the steam therapy. The muscles are relaxed by the steam heat, which also opens the pores and increases absorption of the herbal mixture.

The Chinese recipe that allows a general regulation of the body suggests the use of the following herbs: Hong Hua (Safflower), Ji Xue Teng (Millettia Vitis), Gui Zhi (Cinnamon), Fang Feng (Ledebouriella Root), Dong Quai (Female Ginseng).

Steamtable allows the operator to choose the best combination for the treatment of each patient.
